In order to understand properties of P(BA-co-BT)/Phenoxy blends, miscibility, thermal behavior, and transesterification of the homopolymers blends, Phenoxy/poly(1,4-butylene adipate) (Phenoxy/PBA) and Phenoxy/poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) (Phenoxy/PBT) blends were also investigated in the study. The result of phase morphology and thermal analysis revealed that the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT) and Phenoxy/PBA exhibited a homogeneous phase and a composition-dependent glass transition temperature (Tg), indicating the blends were miscible. In the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT) blends, the interaction parameter χ12 was -0.14, and the interaction parameter χ12 was -0.336 in the Phenoxy/PBA blends . The Phenoxy/PBT blends exhibited a heterogeneous phase and composition-independent glass transition temperature (Tg), indicating the blend was immiscible. Moreover, the result of thermal analysis revealed that a homogeneous phase and the glass transition temperature (Tg) increased in the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT) 、 Phenoxy/PBA and Phenoxy/PBT blends when it was heated at 260℃. Apparently, there was a chemical interaction in the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT)、Phenoxy/PBA and Phenoxy/PBT blends after heat treatment. Also, the result of AFM revealed chemical interaction in the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT) blends. The crystallization temperature of the blend subjected to cyclic heating/cooling treatment is influenced by the total annealing time. Some transesterification reactions might occur in the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT) blends. Furthermore, the result of FT-IR revealed chemical interaction in the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT)、Phenoxy/PBA and Phenoxy/PBT blends. In the study, a special dual transesterification was proved in the Phenoxy/P(BA-co-BT)、Phenoxy/PBA and Phenoxy/PBT blends.
