Progress in manufacturing has enabled modern production and effective mass manufacturing technologies to provide consumers with sophisticated manufactured products. However, recent niche consumer trends have led to the gradual emergence of more diverse and differentiated limited-run products that facilitate self-expression. People desire to express their values through the use of these products. Taiwan has excellent traditional industries and a strong craft culture. In addition to being imbued with a handmade feeling, these crafts reflect the cultural essence of Taiwan. Therefore, we designed innovative fusion crafts, combining innovative thinking, industrial manufacturing processes, and limited-run craft production to create design crafts. Not only did we promote traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship, but we also used innovative designs to expand the creative fields of the products and appropriate manufacturing processes to facilitate the sustainable development of the traditional craft industry and relevant consumption patterns. We performed a literature review and case analysis, examining the synergy generated by fusing design innovation and craft techniques, following the contemporary trend of combining design and crafts. We used a case analysis to examine the effectiveness of crafts to which design was introduced. After classifying materials and techniques, we present seven designs that use lacquer as the primary material: Man light, Piao vase, Yun light, Xu-Shi plate, Gou speaker, Yin mirror, and Yi storage. These creations combine limited-run manufacturing processes and traditional lacquering techniques, extending and evolving the manufacturing process and enhancing production efficiency. Introducing design allows the development of numerous and diverse products. This incorporates traditional crafts into modern life, allowing lacquer art to develop and diversify to meet the needs of the contemporary market. Fang-wu Tung 董芳武 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 143 zh-TW |
