Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 101 === As a requirement of the need for fume hood that has a good performance a chemical fume hood was developed with principles of inclined air-curtain isolation. The inclined air-curtain fume hood which was studied has three key components: cross-flow fan at the work surface, deflection plate along the side wall, and suction slot at the top of the cabinet. The suction velocity (Vs) and cross-flow fan velocity (Vb) applied as the controller of the contaminant. Flow patterns and leakage characteristic were conducted to analyze the flow characteristics and containment performance. The flow visualization results showed that the flow affected by the face velocity (Vface) and the presence or the absence of air-curtain (cross flow fan). By applying the EN 14175-3:2003 method, the leakage concentration was conducted and the result shows that the leakage was very small, averagely 0.003 ppm.
