However, research on Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream, the only script of Bai, is limited and fragmented. In this thesis, the author analyzes the text and contexts of Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream in six chapters. The first three chapters include introduction, research methods, and Bai's life together with and the well-known episode of Peony Pavilion. The following three chapters concentrate on the theme, plot, characters, and structure by employing and the theory of drama. Wandering in the Garden, Waking from a Dream expressed Kun Opera through lines. The fate of Kun Opera combined with the fate of the character and the vicissitudes of history.
