This play was adapted by An Chi Wang and Hsueh Chun Chao in an attempt to present a different kind of performance than traditional Beijing Opera by using a composite modern theatre design method. Bathes’ semiotics is based on the theories of Saussure who was a Switzerland philologist. He adopted terms such as “system”, “syntagma”, “denotation”, “connotation”, and “signification” to explain the meaning of symbols. The visual symbols of the Golden Cangue are integrated with the plot and action elements, based on the sets of scenes and properties in the script. By adopting a semiotic approach to the analysis of the play and deconstructing the symbolism of visual elements in the play, this study provides another mode of interpretation. 劉晉立 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 153 zh-TW |
