In Taiwan, researchers in education discipline also followed APA style in academic writing. However, Chinese researchers interpreted and translated the APA manual in different ways. In consequence, there were several different styles of Chinese APA and was lacking of a standard manual. The method of content analysis was used to examine the format of reference list from the core educational journal articles collected in Taiwan Social Science Citation Index (TSSCI) in 2011 in order to conclude the citation style which was widely accepted by most journals. The manuscript submission guidelines and the references of the first academic article of each journal published from 2009 to 2011 were all examined for clarifying the citation format in practice. The findings indicated that the formats of reference list among different educational academic core journals were inconsistent. The citation style of samples collected from each journal was roughly accordant to reference format of that journal. Nevertheless, types of works that guided by reference format were not as many as which of cited. Among all sampled references, few of them were without complete bibliographic information, and the most cited types of works were periodicals, books, reference books, books chapters, and doctoral dissertations and master’s theses. Finally, there are suggestions for the citation style of each reference components and various types of works according to the research findings. Pao-Nuan Hsieh 謝寶煖 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 325 zh-TW
