Outside the home, they are expected to take social responsibility, increase productivity, but also keep up with social tendency, continuously absorb new knowledge, and increase competitiveness as well. Inside the home, they are expected to take most of the housework and traditional baby-caring responsibility. So many middle-age women, in order to share household economy, choose to work again in the postpartum. Many of them need to work at home, since they still have to take housework while at work. The goal of this thesis is to develop a system platform for these home-based babysitters.
The working women face three major problems: adjustment of menopause, middle-aged women''s health, and the need for professional development and support. Therefore, to this end, we design and develop an Electronic Babysitter Health Management and Support System to help the working babysitters to face the menopause and chronic diseases predispose in middle-age. The system cab provide health medical knowledge as well as professional baby-caring knowledge to enhance their baby-caring skill. The system also establishes an interactive platform so that they can share experience and knowledge to improve their babysitting ability and get peer support. Research by physical and mental health assessment tools to detect its effectiveness, including health problems, BMI, diet, exercise, health management platform using frequency, perceived health status, and wellbeing, and have the detection of social support. We expect that these measures can allow babysitter women to prevent the generation of chronic diseases, to improve health, and can obtain good social support and learn professional knowledge.
Another goal of this system is to help medical professionals to collect the information of how the babysitters’ physical and mental health change. These information can be used by medical professionals to study the babysitter’s health and mental situation and thus can provide better consultation to middle-aged babysitters.
The system is divided into two parts: the front-end interface and the backend database of the system. The front-end interface is divided into two components: the website of professional health information and the questionnaire system. The interface includes all the professional information and multimedia data such as pictures and videos. These data are all managed by CMS(Content Management System) Joomla!. The questionnaire system is developed using PHP programing language. And database store design is set up according to the research needs of different tables with different design fields to store Joomla! and questionnaire system’s data. All the professional health information and questionnaire grade design in this system are all provided by Nation Taipei University of Nursing and Health Science Ph.D. student An-chi.
