Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 人類學研究所 === 101 === This thesis explores the commodification of modern Chinese tea in local society with the development of “Tanyang Gongfu” tea brand in Fuan County. The article refers to two topics: first, I review the history of Chinese tea to analyze how political power affected the commodification of tea and made it expand its application and spreading area. Second, I study the development of Fuan tea industry and the present movement of“Tanyang Gongfu” tea brand, to analyze how they pursued modernize industry in different eras and what they were bringing about in present movement. These topics on the one hand touch the different way of commodification of tea in non-Western society, on the other way they refer to the articulation of commodification and modern cultural capitalism.
