This means that the overall inbound tourism is looking very positive. 98 - 100, taitung has been ranked either sixth or seventh in the top 10 visited cities among all tourist, therefore there are still a lot of potential growth for taitung's inbound market. Since 97, tourist from mainland china were approved to visit Taiwan, taitung hotels shown great increase on their room occupancy however the overall economy of taitung still remained the same. The economy did not benefit much from the increased tourist especially in transportation, food and souvenir spendings. The conclusion of this research through various of questionairre shows a lot of similar result in Taitung's tourist common interest, travel decisions and travel behaviors compare to the study that department of transportation performs annually. As far as tourist spending, the budget for tourist to spend is on the lower side when they visit Taitung. Satisfactory result shows that tourist more than likely will not visit Taitung again. As a conclusion of this study, we recommend that both national and local government can improve some of the weakness and also promote Taitung's international tourism.
