Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 兒童文學研究所 === 101 === From 1980, the tendency of the men taking wives from Southeast Asia and China in Taiwan was increased; as a result, the population of immigrant residents and children of immigrant residents are growing rapidly. However, the racial discrimination to them is serious in Taiwan. And, the government and scholars have observed the case, so they start to do some researches and investigations. At the same time, the issues have been written on the young adult fictions to reflect the society nowadays in Taiwan. The identity adjustment issues, life adjustment issues and learning adjustment issues are three important immigrant resident issues. The paper will focus on discussing the three issues from the immigrant resident young adult fiction texts. Besides, the research will concern with if the three important issues are pointed out to reflect the problems, the immigrant residents facing, through the characters, plots and dialogues in the texts. Through the research discovered, the immigrant resident images were created perfectly, and the problems they encountered were solved perfectly in the immigrant resident YA fictions. Maybe the main purposes of the fictions are only to show the readers to see the hope of the immigrant resident problems in the future. However, the real situation is pessimistic. I hope the writers in the future can emphasize the real situation describing of immigrant residents to show the real problems they confront.
