Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 資通科技產業碩士專班 === 101 === The Postal barcode is composed of bars and spaces of the same width but with different lengths. The postal barcode is applied in various countries for automatic mail delivery. Postal barcodes usually use a check digit to detect errors. It is possible for some postal code symbologies to detect errors and also correct them using the uniqueness of the digital pattern. This thesis presents a decoding method for the PLANET and RM4SCC barcode. We propose a missing bar decoding and correction system when bars are missing. The system includes locating and rotating barcodes in an image with a white background. Two PLANET rows, and three RM4SCC rows are extracted for decoding. We use the variation in black and white pixels to calculate the total number of black and white bars, referring again to RM4SCC and PLANET encoding specifications for decoding and decoding when the tracker is damaged. We implement the proposed method in a real-time system.
