One preschool child with autism and two typically developing children were recruited to form a play group to explore the effect of social orienting intervening. The results show that positive emotional exchange strategy is very effective to improve the social orienting behaviors (orienting to peers, eye-gazing, emotional reaction, calling name) and imitation of the child with autism.
