Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 數位科技設計學系(含玩具與遊戲設計碩士班) === 101 === This thesis presents the results of a study which aimed to investigate the usability of user interfaces between patterns with and without hints. A children’s interactive electronic book which was developed as an iPad app. The hints help users to notice interactive patterns in this book. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the usability of two kinds of different interfaces. Furthermore, this thesis evaluates the usability of multi-touch gestures, tilting the iPad device and sound detection in this book. In this thesis, the analysis compares observational and survey data collected during implementations in usability testing and semi-structured interviews with sixteen kids in ages 4-7. Results show that the usability is no difference between two kinds of interfaces. In Operation, the swipe gesture is more difficult for some children to operate. It is hard for children to find the operations of tilting the iPad device and sound detection. The evaluation results reveal that the most of children can perform right operations used on this book. The majority of children who finished this book liked the drag gesture, tilt operation, patterns, animations and sounds in this book. In general, children’s attitudes toward this book were very positive.
