This thesis focuses in the analysis of documentary “The young Amah” which emphasis the analysis of the importance of representation as media. As helpers in the American family the role of Amah is ambiguous as both servant but also advantageous in economic capacity in which is identities ambiguous, which is consistent at the level of individual, and national position. The representation of Amah also shed new light in telling different cultural histories in the movement and would shape new understanding in the cultural landscape planning of the place.
