Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 輪機工程系 === 101 === This article aims to study to design an engine underwater exhaust protruding pipe of medium and high speed crafts. These crafts with underwater exhaust can save the space occupied by the exhaust pipe in the engine room and to reduce noise or to reduce the signal and infrared radiation in the air for the purpose of military stealth. The key point to design underwater exhaust pipe is that decide the length of pipe protruding the bottom of the boat. The impact of this length related variables include the size of the diameter of the exhaust pipe, draft, engine exhaust back pressure and ship speed.
This article is based on the related variables to establish a numerical model, to simulate and adjustment the model parameters to the impact of the exhaust protruding pipe length to each variable. The simulation results were compared with the data of the actual sea trial, to confirm the reliability of the model, and finally organize the simulation results to make charts for the future design reference.
