To achieve this goal, the thesis proposes an effective monitoring system for the process supervision and control of an automatic packer. To replace traditional buttons, the monitor system utilizes the press-on/release-off and the press-on/ press-off buttons, embedded in the man-machine interface, with their register addresses matched to the ones in PLC program. Besides, other embedded button functions can be incorporated into design to meet user’s demand, so that the size of operational Interface panel can be significantly reduced. For the process surveillance of automatic packer, status beacons of the man-machine interface are set with their register addresses matched to the input/output addresses in PLC program. In addition, twelve major processes of operational conditions are also programmed, with on or off status of the associated beacons, to shorten the time of fixing instrumental failure.
