Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 教育研究所 === 101 === This study investigated the experiences, effects, and demand of in-service marine education among primary teachers in Keelung City. Questionnaire survey was conducted in the study: The instrument of the survey is a researcher self-designed questionnaire "Investigation of Primary Teachers’In-service marine education in Keelung City: experiences, effects, and demands".
To ensure that valid sampling procedures were applied, stratefied sampling was used at the first stage, in which 21 schools from 7 districts in Keelung City were selected. Then, 10 to 40 teachers in each school were selected by means of simple ramdom sampling. 490 questionnaires were administered, 438 questionnaires were recalled, and a total of 435 questionnaires were valid.
Statistical data was then analyzed with the descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, and single-factor variations data analysis, and the main findings are as follows:
I. 95% of the elementary school teachers in Keelung City had taken marine education in-service training. Among them, over 80% positively supported the training, 80% prefer in-service trainings held on Wednesday afternoon, 82% prefer topics about "Marine Ecology Conservation", and 81% prefer "Field Investigation."
II. In background variables and marine education in-service training experiences, differences were shown in gender, school administrative districts, education background and personal marine education in-service training hours.
III. In background variables and future needs, differences were shown in gender, teaching years, and personal marine education in-service training hours.
