Because of the influence from plate collision, the geological condition in Taiwan is considered to be harsh with fragile geologic structures, steep terrain and frequent earthquakes. In recent years, there are many typhoons in Taiwan, they are entrained torrential rains, and slope disasters occur repeatedly in mountains .These disasters are not only recurring happen but also severe damage in mountain villages. In related study, occurring mountain landslide or mudslide has a certain course. According to different watershed characteristics have different results, we have to know certain course and predict each watershed’s disaster possibilities and area. In August 2ed 2012, Typhoon Saola hit Taiwan with extremely high rainfall which induced the occurrence of several debris flows in the area and damaged 30 buildings in Hezhong, Xiulin Township, Haulien . At that time several debris flows have occurred, so bring a lot of sediment and rocks to downstream. Debris flow didn’t along the original direction of flow directly into the sea .It turn direction and flow into villages destroyed the buildings, because the previous debris accumulation changed the topographical. This study investigates 1664 debris flow potential rivers in Taiwan. Found another debris flow will turn the direction, and using Flo-2D application to predict debris that may affect the area to avoid disaster. Lien Kwei Chien 簡連貴 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 132 en_US
