Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學碩士班 === 101 === The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects on using emotion picture books to improve lower graders’ negative emotion expression in elementary school by action research. The results include the students’ transformation of negative emotion expression(angry, sad, and fear), the students’ opinions of emotion picture books teaching programs during the instruction process. Action research is adopted to break through the difficulties in real teaching situation, trying to implement further reformation and innovation.
The research participants were 27 second graders, students in the researcher’s class. Based on action research method, the action program of picture books teaching activities about emotion was designed by the researcher, and instructed for 9 weeks. the action program process was segmented into three stages: the experimental period, the adjustable period, and the mastery period. During the process, children’s emotion expression scales, after-class questionnaire, and teaching observation, self-evaluation notes, interview record were all adopted to collect and analyze the data. The findings and results derived from the analysis and induction discussion of the research are summarized as the following:
1. Through the process of the experimental period, the emotion picture books teaching
program can improve the students’ way of angry expression.
2. Through the process of the adjustable period, the emotion picture books teaching program can improve the students’ way of sad expression.
3. Through the process of the mastery period, the emotion picture books teaching
program can improve the students’ way of fear expression.
4. In the action program, the students’ emotion expression was enhanced, especially
this program has the best effects on the dimension of the fear expression.
5. The students have positive opinions of receiving emotion picture books teaching
program.
6. Emotion picture books teaching program can enhance teacher’s connotation and
virtue of patience.
7. Emotion picture books teaching program can promote the harmonious relationship
between the students and teachers.
According to all the above conclusions, the study provides some discussion directions for the future emotion picture books teaching program and research that can be taken as the reference.
