Research design includes single subject A-B design, the student interviews, worksheets, and the scores of school exams. The researcher practiced a ten-week long experimental teaching to 4 low achievement 4th graders. The purpose of the research is to discuss applying 5w1h effects on the problem solving and academic achievement on the low achievement 4th graders. Also, to discuss how the low achievement 4th graders think about the 5w1h skill.
The experiment results from the application of 5w1h can be listed as the following three parts.
1.With applying 5w1h in teaching mathematics, the low achievement 4th graders solved the problem successfully.
2.With applying 5w1h in teaching math, the low achievement 4th graders had better mathematics academic achievement.
3.The low achievement 4th graders had a positive attitude towards applying 5w1h in mathematics teaching.
