It is also a resource to cultivate human civilization. In the process of language learning teaching, reciting is an importatnt part to help children understand well about what they read. And the essential factors of reading ability are listed as indicators in the Grade 1-9 Curriculum. Nursery rhymes, verses and songs are important parts of children literature, which have the trait of music . Thus, in the critical stage of learning, verse teaching can help them to improve their speaking ability and to appreciate the beauty of literature. Recently, most theses about strategies of teaching reading are focused on verbal expression and reading comprehension. This research aimed to evaluate the appreciation of literautre by teaching them reading or reciting verses and would provide more visions for relative studies. This study maily adopts the approach of textual analysis and action research. I use Conscience textbooks and the verses I collected as main teaching material for the twent-nine beginners I taught for twelve weeks which are divided into three learning stages. Besides, the quantitative methods such as individual interview were applied to collect and analyze the data.
