In the relevant documents of hotel industry economic analysis, most
of them focus on the market competition and operating performance
of tourism hotels, lodges and international tourist hotel.
However, so far there has no study about factors to the duration
of tourist hotel (or hotel) and how the tourist hotels compete with
the others. We hereby apply the model of the duration commonly
used in economic analysis to analyze the factors to the duration
of the tourist hotel (or hotel) existed in 1998-2008.
Our field research demostrates that the following factors have
materially affected the duration of Taiwan international tourist
hotel: location, business model, hotels age, market concentration,
scale of operations..etc.
