How they change in family roles, and self-identity. This study had interviewed three youths, 2-4 times for each person Several findings according to the data analysis are as follows: 1. Changes in the adolescent of their family roles:. (1)The family role of young people mostly turned into affective function at first. Then, they gradually become to be not only emotional but also instrumental function. (2)The identity of the young people’s new family role will influenced by the expectations and evaluation from other family members. Higher role expectations and evaluation will lead the new role to a more stable position. But if the youth couldn’t afford the exeption, they will refuse a new family role. 2. Changes of the young people’s self-identity. (1)The self-identity changes of the young people are classified as three periods:(a) Period of Self-deconstruction:Self-identity is in chaos, and they think themselves dosen’t have the value. (b) Period of Self-infancy:Self-identity begins to increase, but it’s easily to affect by system. (c) Self-reconstruction period:Commitment to self-independent, re-construct the meaning of life. (2)The young people will rediscover the meaning of the world and the value of life in the process of self-identity. 3. The factors that influence the self-identity of the adolescent. (1)The factors that impacting changes in self-identity is their intrinsic motivation. (2)The timing of entry and exit of external support systems influence self-identity of the youth.
