The researcher investigated their willingness, problems, strategies, and improvement of combining music with information technology before, during, and after the music classes, from the all kind backgrounds upper grades elementary music teachers in Taichung City. The research instrument was a researcher-designed questionnaire. Participants (n=252) were the upper level music teachers in public elementary schools in Taichung City. The collected data was statistically analyzed with SPSS through descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA. This study found that most participants intended to integrate information technology into their music instruction. However, the integration of information technology currently is unable to satisfy the need of the seven categories in music curriculum. The most difficult thing for these participants to integrate information technology is the shortage of staffs for managing and consulting, even most of the participants have positive attitude to face the challenges and difficulties. Additionally, sufficient software and hardware equipments will increase the intention of the music teachers to integrate the information technology into their music instruction. This study suggests that music teachers need to work on the development of music curriculum and establish digital workshops for music teachers. Moreover, the relevant authorities need to help music teachers to overcome all difficulties in integrating information technology into music instruction, and help them to have the opportunity for integrating the information technology into music instruction.
