Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣體育運動大學 === 體育舞蹈學系碩士班 === 101 === “Bodhi Tangled with Music”, Huang, Wei-Ting’s dance graduate concert of master degree, is performed at Chung Hsing Hall in Taichung on May 11st 2011. Based on the dance vocabularies that express the intrinsic nature of female body, this graduate concert invites and cooperates with young dancers from our department, several choreographers who expert in various creative styles, and artists from different fields. Employing both Chinese dance and modern dance movements that create blending cultural and bodily symbols, this performance encourages the major dancer as well as the author, who came from possessing professional Chinese dancing background, to involve into the conversations among body, mind, soul, and music. Documenting the whole process of dance production, rehearsals, and formal performance, this research is intended to apply “individual narrative” as research method and records the author’s personal practical experiences, self-reflections on the past performance, and the author’s thoughts and interpretations on this dance prodution.
This research includes seven chapters as following. Chapter one, “Introduction,” states the background, motivation, purpose, and method of the research. Chapter two, “Dancing Fairy in the Garden,” describes the author’s transforming process of dancing. Chapter three to chapter six respectively analyze the meanings of four creative works, “Double-figured Bodhi”, “Captivating”, “Arousing with a Flick of One's Sleeve” ,“Tangled around Music”, and discuss the author’s master and interpretations of body, emotion, and performance. Chapter seven, “Conclusion” tracks the process of producing graduate concert. After experiences the rinsing of body and mind in “Bodhi Tangled with Music,” the author hopes to step forward to another performing stage involving with both body and mind.
