They work hardly due to looking for a better quality of life and earn more money, while living in a strange country could be face a lot of problem on live, such as culture shock, life adjustment, and those problem could result to stress. This study analyzed the coping strategies among foreign workers and examined the perceived health status could be result of differences coping styles. The data of the study was using some part of research named “A panel on Perceived Organizational Support and Health Outcomes among Foreign Workers in Taiwan” composed by Jennifer Yeh in 2006. Two thousands and eight hundred fifty-five foreign worker were questioned on their coping and perceived health status. Results support the coping strategies different in gender, Problem-focused coping active coping, planning, use of instrumental supports was significant to females. Emotion-focused coping use of emotional support, positive reframing, acceptance, religion was significant to females. Avoidant coping substance use was significant to males. Education and live situation shows no significant on coping strategies. Married shows significant on substance use. Problem-focused coping active coping, planning, use of instrumental supports correlated positively to perceived health status. Avoidant coping self-distraction, denial, substance use, behavioral disengagement was negatively correlated to health status. The correlation between Emotion-focused coping use of emotional support, positive reframing religion and perceived health status were positive, venting, self-blame, humor, acceptance were negative. The results of this study suggest that the employer has to do the best effort to inform foreign worker the government or employer have provided the way to deal with problems. This study suggested that future study should divide into industry foreign workers and social foreign workers to investigate the correlation between coping and health status in job type different.
