碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 視覺藝術學系碩士班 === 101 === Due to Taiwan geographical landscape and its dense population, most of the population is clustered in metropolitan areas. This results in a phenomena that heavy traffic flows are everywhere in Taiwan. Because of those societal phenomena, motorcycles characteristic of accessibility and parking convenience have become one of the essential transportation measures in the Taiwanese’ daily lives. However, owing to the early-period rider’s misbehaviors and local traffic congestions, motorcycles in Taiwan society have undergone through a series of discreditable events and have gained a notorious reputation as well. In addition, those events not only have distorted people’s original impression of “motorcycles” but also have had great influence on their perception towards them. Upon the above reasons, this study is committed to presenting not only the historical development in motorbike industry with some documentary reviews and analyses but also the conceptual correlations between motorbikes and periodical aesthetics. Through the motorbike-part-assemblage art creation with tangible art craft presentation designed by the researcher for this study, the aim is to integrate motorbikes with visual arts in life aesthetics in order to have audiences realize the researcher trying to express various psychological projections of riders and their various lifestyles. This study with 13 pieces of artworks inclusive of two core series, “Motorbikes Reveal Me” and “Motorbikes Accompany Me,” displays the connections and correlations between rides and motorbikes. Furthermore, by the integration arts into lives and even a part of lives, the researcher is devoted himself to constructing an affirmative image and prospects of motorcycle subculture and life aesthetics.
