Methods: This study used purposive sampling on 49 fourth-grade students from Longhua Primary School. The Control Group had 16 people, who did not carry out special physical training other than regular physical education courses; Experiment Group A had 16 people, who carried out 3 instances of physical trainings through interval running-walking per week for 12 weeks in addition to regular physical education courses; Experiment Group B had 17 people, who carried out 3 instances of physical trainings through interval running-walking per week for 12 weeks and undergo diet education in addition to regular physical education courses. Before and after the experiment, the three groups undergo measurement in the tests of body mass index, 800 meter run-and-walk, sit-and-reach, one minute bent-knee sit-ups, and standing long jump. Two-way mixed design ANOVA was used to test whether the pre-test and post-test results of the three groups show significant effects. Results: There were significant increase in the results of the tests of body fat mass and 800 meter run-and-walk for Experiment Groups A and B(p<.05). But there were no significant increase in results of other physical fitness tests. Conclusion: Physical training through interval running-walking accompanied with diet education for 12 weeks could improve primary school boys’ performance on the results of 2 tests of body fat mass and 800 meter run-and-walk. There were no significant increase in the tests of BMI, one minute bent-knee sit-ups, standing long jump, and sit-and-reach.
