I am an elementary school teacher who always thinks about who I am. In spite of being excellent all the time from my childhood, getting others’ recognition, however, I still not understand what really I want. Hence, I struggle for being myself or completing other’s expectations. My students have different kinds of backgrounds. Some of them are gifted students. Some care about their looking more than everything. Some of their parents are busy at working and they don’t have time to take good care of their kids. Some was born in a good family. Moreover, some of them are new immigrants. Through them I found myself in the past, so I want to guide them in different ways. When someone ridicules us, we should try to make ourselves happy by laughing. When we are not satisfied with our weight, we would try to look on the bright side. When parents push us too much, wecould cherry each up. The interaction in the classroom is like an epitome of the society. Students’ behaviors are learned from others, and they can’t make out which one is true. Hence, I want to lead students to understand themselves, appreciate themselves, accept themselves and find themselves through the teaching activities of self-exploration. In this study, I documented the teaching progress of self-exploration and all the reflections in my teaching by the way of self-narrative. This journey of self-reflections makes a new start in my teaching life. I get plenty of energy from them. For me, it stands for that I can lead my students and give them a wonderful life in school.
