This study chose survey method which sued“The Questionnaire of Kaohsiung City elementary school teachers’ job stress, emotional management , and coping strategies”developed by the researcher as a survey tool. The questionnaire was administered to a sample consisting of 605 elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City. A total of 578 valid responses were obtained. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis on SPSS. From the research findings, the following conclusions were obtained: 1. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City perceived an intermediate level of job stress. Their stress from “class teaching” was the highest, while that from“interpersonal relationship” was the lowest. 2. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City was above the intermediate level of emotional management. Their emotional management from “emotional awareness” was the best, while that from“emotional adjustment” was the lowest. 3. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City used “ coping strategies” was above the intermediate level. The strategy of “comfront the problems” was most frequently adopted, while the strategy of “procrastination-and-escape” was least frequently adopted. 4. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City who are male,senior,married,experienced,,and holding concurrent administrative jobs have the higher job stress. 5. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City who are female,young,single, and holding concurrent administrative jobs as section deans have the best emotional management. 6. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City who are female,young,light years of service,small-scale schools with small than 24 classes, and holding concurrent administrative jobs as section deans used the coping strategies at a higher frequently. 7. Elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City who have higher emotional management ability and use coping strategies more frequency will decrease their working stress. 8. Job stress and emotional management had predicting power for coping strategies, and “emotional adjustment” was a major predictor variable.   Based on the results of this study, the researcher provided specific recommendations for educational institutions, schools, elementary school teachers, and future researchers as well.
