Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 華語文教學研究所 === 101 === Responding to the needs of interest and diversity for teaching materials in Chinese, this study takes Jimmy’s picture book “Turn Left, Turn Right” as the material and “2012 NKNU mandarin summer camp’s” high level students as the subjects to plan a four-week, fifteen-hour teaching action research. This study is to confirm the effects of combination between Jimmy’s picture book “Turn Left, Turn Right” and Adults’ mandarin summer camp. This study mainly uses qualitative research especially the way - action research, and combined class activities that including the following three parts: vocabularies, movie and picture book. Besides, this study also uses content analysis to analyze the watcher’s notes, lesson plans, students’ assignments and questionnaires, trying to analyze the effects of teaching and learning from different ways and aspects. The results show that using the multiple intelligences as the foundation, then combining Jimmy’s picture book “Turn Left, Turn Right” in class can promote students’ skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing effectively; furthermore, it also can encourage culture exchanges and cultivate aesthetic. The writing skill is the most progressive skill in all language skills because students are able to use the new vocabularies and sentence patterns in the composition properly, and also can get well-development in the class activities. The most important is that almost all students give a positive evaluation for the class activities of picture book. In conclusion, using Jimmy’s picture book in adults’ mandarin summer camp can give consideration to cognitive domain, affective domain, psychomotor domain at the same time, and add the interest and diversity of teaching materials in Chinese.
