Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 諮商心理與復健諮商研究所 === 101 === Aim of the thesis is to reveal the stories of two persons who suffered from illnesses resulting in acquired important organs function loss, and to understand how the patients and their own families adapted to the change. Two major interviewees and six of the corresponding relatives, including two patients, their spouses and two children of one interviewee were interviewed. Their stories of lives, being a part of the qualitative study, are chronically narrated and analyzed in inductive reasoning. In the present study, as the two major interviewees truthfully unveiled their experiences, feelings, and names are changed: one is “Huichun” and the other is “Kuohsien”. Huichun’s story was briefly introduced under the themes as follow: “The lengthy medical treatment following an unexpected illness”, “Companion, care, and communication”, “Dietary changes”, “A new balance between life and work”, “Support from both sides of the family”, “Financial management and social welfare”, “Mental adjustment and religious comfort”, “Children’s worries”, “Review”, and “Future plan”. Kuohsien’s story was briefly introduced under the themes as follow: “The accidental outbreak of myocardial infarction”, “Sorrow, care, and communication”, “Neglected health”, “Work and adjustment”, “Work-related injuries and an eye stroke”, “family and social support”, “Medical staff”, “Religious comfort”, “Social benefits”, “financial management and future plan”, and “To health”. The thesis presented how Huichun, Kuohsien, and their families have recovered from the shock and chaos caused by illnesses. On the way of recovering, individuals affected their families and vice versa. Huichun and Kuohsien’s families had similar experiences, as shown in the thesis. The thesis contains suggestions for people who are interested in the same themes as described in the present study.
