~Take 2011 Teachers Life Growth Camp as an example
Abstract
The purpose of this study aimed to achieve four purposes: (1) To investigate service-learning motivations of Bliss and Wisdom Senior School students who participated in 2011 National Teacher Life Growth C (2) To explore the service-learning process of the implementation. (3) To explore the –difficulties students encountered, (3) To analyze students growth after service-learning activities. This research adopted case study. The objects was &; Bliss and Wisdom Senior High School Students (including 6 female and 2 male) for data analysis. The methods includes focus visits, email letters and talking with teachers,parents, and staffs of Bliss and Wisdom Senior High School in semi-structural visit. The result shows that:
1. The learningmotivation of Bliss and Wisdom Senior High School students who had participated in 2011 National Teachers Life Growth Camp was switched from extinsic motivation of supports of their parents to the intrinsic motivation and self- efficacy.
2. There were four stages of service-learning:
(1) Stage of preparation : High School cooprated with Bliss and Wise Culture and Education foundation and adopted intensive service-learning program.
(2) Stage of service/action: The service-learning included welcome teachers, duty of prepare meals and clean.
(3) Stage of reflection: Students often reflect and thanksgiving to others’goodness and merits.
(4) Stage of publish / celebration: Students wouldl publish their idea and feeling in class, friendly reunion and large-scale activities.
3. When Students participated in 2011 National Teacher Life Growth Camp, they encountered environment, interpersonal and situations difficulties. They overcome above difficulties by the spirit of treasuring bliss and diligent, thinking others goodness and team cooperation.
4. Students who participated in 2011 National Teachers’ Life Growth Camp would have good interpersonal relationship when they learned to think organizational goodness and know to express their thanks and enlarged their life style.
Four conclusions and suggestions were made for service-learning planners and instructors, and research in the future.
According to the above conclusions, some suggestions were provide for the reference of high school administrators of and research in the future.
