In this case, rate and loss rate of the insurance companies is difficult to control and high. The biggest dispute between insurance companies and its customers is claim; therefore, in order to enhance satisfaction of insureds and reduce disputes from claims and cost of underwriting, it is an inevitable trend for present insurance companies to strengthen selection of business sources and look for business opportunities. This study discussed claim data from a certain insurance company and analyzed the relationship between variables of numbers of compensation and payment of claim, gender, age, job classification, area of claim, category of claim and risk classification, etc. From empirical results, it shows that most numbers of compensation and payment of claim concentrate on males and the rate of claims on males is higher than on females. The average age of insureds who make claims is between 25 to 64 years old and for job classification, most claims are on the first and second categories of office staff and high-level executives. For issuing area, the highest frequency of claims are in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung and the category of claims are mostly automobiles collision and falling. Because the frequency of automobiles collision are the most, the risk classification of actual expenditure and payment on medical treatment is higher than claim rate. For personal accident insurance in the insurance, in addition to calculated rates by job classification, it is recommended that the relevant units can consider add two variables of gender and age when drawing up rate in the future, and it should be able to calculate the degree of risk accurately. The result of this study can provide as reference for insurance companies on decision making of underwriting and claims and carry out risk management and strategic development. It can also create a more favorable market environment and establish good cooperation relations of marketing channels in order to achieve the goal of sustainable management.
