| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 造船及海洋工程研究所 === 102 === This research mainly discusses the communication between different practical technics in the shipbuilding procedures. The researcher used field study to collect data, participated in the shipyard to record the activities including work dispatching, engineers’ meetings. In addition, the researcher also used structured and semi-structured interviews of senior foreman, contractors, technicians, and engineers from different professional backgrounds. These firsthand data was then analyzed.
From the data, we found a special way which messages were delivered between different practical units. Each unit has their own work schedules. For examples, technicians have the own work tables, as well as the site engineers and planning engineers. Practical units create the worktable according to all kinds of inter-units discussions and negotiation. These worktables become the main message delivery in the shipbuilding practices.
This research found the worktable is a form of interdisciplinary communication. Even though the practical technics are very different in different units, they can all get a hold of the production progress using the worktables. Therefore, the shipbuilding team can work in high efficiency, contributes to the good operation of the entire company.
