In the earlier times, it was called Soulangh, meaning “land of contract” in the Pingpu language. The environmental changes over the past three to four hundred years have led to a special human touch and historical look in this place. As the origin of the early Siraya Culture, Jiali boasts unique temple fairs, traditional buildings, and precious sculptures. This thesis aims at the local Soulangh Culture in Jiali District, Tainan, trying to preserve its history over the past four hundred years, from the period of Dutch colonization to the republic era, by digitally creative techniques. With the far-reaching propagation of digital platforms, the research attempts to depict the characteristics of this small town and then to further its sustainable cultural development. The thesis first collects the historical data in Soulangh area, including Yeh Wang’s Koji Ceramics in Zhen-xing Temple, He Jing-long’s Cut-and Paste in Jin-tang Temple, the centipede troupe in Ying-yuan Temple, the Liu Yi Dance in Chao-ching Temple, the night ceremony of Siraya cultural village, Dutch wells, and the Fei-fan Tomb, and later innovates them with modern digital technology such as e-books, films, surrounding photographing, combining Google Maps to interpret the glory of Soulangh Culture and preserve its historical buildings as well as traditions. A tour map—the digitally creative tour map of Soulangh—is then constructed based on four aspects, namely, the antique Soulangh, Bei Tou Yang Cultural Village, the old streets, and the folklore and legends, with the aim of enhancing the public’s understanding of the culture and thus passing on the heritage. Lastly, with the description of the ups and downs of Soulangh Culture and its exquisite essence, the research hopes to put Jiali on the map again, meanwhile promoting the tourism and benefitting the local people. The sustainable development of Jiali will then be on the way Liu,Chun Xing Lu, Fang Chuan 劉醇星 呂芳川 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 79 zh-TW
