Specifically, the VoIP server with the HA mechanism stores the VoIP users’ registration data in both the memory and the hard disk. After the VoIP server is restored from failure, the server can retrieve the registration data from the hard disk. In this thesis, we utilize OpenSIPS as the VoIP server and configure different database access modes (i.e., no-database, write-through, write-back and database-only) for the registration. We evaluate the response time of registration procedure, the system restore delay and the response time of registration procedure for these different access modes.
