We study the relationship of BPDS chain extender changes to the ratio of polymer, and to understand the material properties by the thermal properties, mechanical properties, and antibacterial test and so on. It can be proved by FTIR and NMR there were successfully synthesis of BPDS chain extender and successfully polymerization of BPDS /polyurethane materials. Analysis of the thermal pyrolysis temperature of TGA test shows that primary pyrolysis temperature presents rising tendency, and the secondary pyrolysis presents decline tendency due to low heat resistance property of BPDS chain extender. In the analysis graphs of DMA and DSC test, we found the Loss modulus, Tg will increase along with the BPDS chain extender increased. In the analysis graph of XRD test, it shows that around 20° and 42° of 2θ angle appear the peak of polyurethane crystal and the 38° of 2θ angle shows the peak of silver ion crystal. In the analysis graph of EDS test, we know that silver ion content appear increasing along with BPDS chain extender increased. The mechanical strength and elongation in MTS test will decrease along with BPDS chain extender increased, and the Young’s modulus has increased significantly. And we use Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia for antibacterial test can know that the anti-bacterial properties of BPDS/Polyurethane materials will increase along with the BPDS chain extender increased. Contact angle test analysis, the higher BPDS chain extender content greater BPDS/polyurethane material more hydrophobic.
