A Study on Constructing the Meta-evaluation Checklist of the Student Evaluation System for Universities in Taiwan

博士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 教育學系博士班 === 101 === Abstract The main purpose of this study was to develop a meta-evaluation of the student evaluation system for the universities in Taiwan. The checklist was based on the second edition of The Student Evaluation Standards: How to Improve Evaluations of Students (SES). The findings and conclusion of this study may serve as a reference for the higher education institutions to design, implement and assess the student evaluation system for their institutions. The three-stage Delphi technique was utilized to achieve the mentioned goals above. The main conclusions of this study were summarized as following: 1. The meta-evaluation checklist of the student evaluation system that was developed by this study is suitable for the universities in Taiwan. 2. The four kinds of standards and the 28 sub-standards are all suitable for the student evaluation of universities in Taiwan. 3. The meta-evaluation checklist of the student evaluation system that was developed by this study is complete and sound for the universities in Taiwan. The contents of this meta-evaluation checklist of the student evaluation system includes cover page, table of contents, and checklist itself. The checklist structure includes: standards/sub-standards, checkpoint, data collection method and result. In total, the checklist has four kinds of standards, 28 sub-standards, and 45 checkpoints. Based on the conclusions of this study, suggestions are proposed to the colleges and universities, as well as to the further studies.
