Summary: | 碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 教育學系碩士班 === 101 === This study began when researcher encountered the Waldorf education in the college. The researcher chose a Waldorf educator as the research subject, and tried to understand the experience of his life. The main purposes of this study were to explore the preparation and practice in the researcher subject’s multiple roles, and the problems as well as coping strategies while devoting to the Waldorf education.
A qualitative research method was adopted by this study through interviews, observations, documents analysis and reflection notes to collect data. All data was coded and categorized to form issues, and then progressively completed the study.
According to the purposes of this study, the findings after data analyzing were summarized as follows:
I.The preparation in the researcher subject’s multiple roles:
1.Hauf prepared himself to become a parent of the Waldorf school by growth courses attending, Waldorf books reading, and ceremonies experiencing.
2.Hauf prepared himself to become a teacher of the Waldorf school by classroom observations, reading the documents of teaching, and attending the training courses.
3.Hauf prepared himself to become a principal of the Waldorf school by being a teacher, reviewing the problems, and collating experiences.
II.The practice in the researcher subject’s multiple roles:
1.As a parent of the Waldorf school, Hauf participated in the laboring works, coordinated and consoled people to support the school.
2.As a teacher of the Waldorf school, Hauf designed integrated courses, emphasized interest-arousing teaching, and understood children’s development through evaluation.
3.As a principal of the Waldorf school, Hauf interviewed with parents, and supported teachers and parents through sharing experiences.
III.Problems that the researcher subject encountered:
1.Being interrupted while teaching, and there was school bullying between children.
2.Groups had different expectations from school and resulted in discord.
3.There were role ambiguity and conflict while playing multiple roles.
IV.Coping strategies that the researcher subject adopted:
1.To the problem of children, Hauf changed his mind and search for others’ cooperation.
2.To the problem of groups, Hauf excluded from the hard force and rebuilt the common consensus.
3.To the problem of role ambiguity and conflict, Hauf adjusted himself to accept the situation.
