Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育行政與管理學系 === 101 === Experimental Study on How Morning Reading Program Improves School Life Adaptation of Senior High and Vocational School Students Abstract The study aims to explore the effects of morning reading program upon School LifeAdaptation of Senior High and Vocational School Students. The objects of the study are 22 students from researcher’s own class. The method used in the study is “One-Group Pretest Posttest Design of Pre-experiment Research.” Experiments are conducted 20 minutes in themorning, 3 times a week, for consecutive 12 weeks. 36 chapters of morning reading materials are read to the students by the researcher and then the learning sheets are handed out for students to fill out. “School Life Condition Questionnaire” is conducted before and after the experiment. Quantitative research is mainly used by performing the statistical analyses including means, percentage, standard deviation and paired sample t-test and supported by the qualitative materials including learning sheet, feedback sheet, teacher-student interview and researcher’s observation. The statistic figures and qualitative data are reviewed and analyzed to explore research progress and results. The study found that students make positive progress after applying morning reading program in following aspects: 1. Schoolwork adaptation : Both learning motive and Chinese performance are increasing. 2. Regulations adaptation: Students are less absent and classrooms are gradually better-ordered. 3. Teacher-student relationship: Friendly interaction between teacher and students improves classroom order and learning willingness. 4. Peer relationship: Students have learned respect, tolerance and communication skill about interpersonal interaction. 5. Self-acceptance: Students have self-appreciation and have learned to appropriately express their emotions. 6. Female students are significantly better than male students in school life adaptation. Lastly, based on the results of the study, the researcher make practical suggestions on how morning reading program improves the school life adaptation of vocational students, which can be used as reference for educators, education authorities and the future research.
