Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 藝術與設計學系 === 101 === Reading the Chinese classics helps the development of morality and language competence. Due to the short verses and abstract connotation within Chinese poems, most children feel it hard to understand and reluctant to learn. The multiform of Pop-up books not only provides entertainment and sense of participation, but also suggests a different reading model with the 3D space presented in the book. So far, most producers are from western countries and materials mostly from western culture, and study on pop-up books mainly focused the external form of the book and internal creativity of the author. Hence, the integration of pop-up book and Chinese poem is seldom discussed. This study examines how the implementation of pop-up books in Chinese poem learning might have influence on 2nd grade students’ learning interests and attitude. There was an SPSS assessment system applied both before and after the class to develop a qualified analysis and see if the children’s interests and attitude towards Chinese poems changed. In addition, video recording and class feedback were implemented as well as qualitative track and observation. Semi-structured interview was also applied after the class to collect the opinions of participants. Finally the researcher compiled both qualified and qualitative materials, and concluded several results and suggestions upon using pop-up boos in Chinese poem learning process. The results are as follows: 1) the use of pop-up boos has obviously improved children’s concentration in learning; 2) the use of pop-up books helps improve children’s learning attitude; 3),there is a significant difference with different genders. According to the results, the researcher provides advice and suggestion for pup-up book publishers, educators, and researchers for future primary Chinese poem teaching and relevant academic studies.
