Meanwhile, the professional development of the researcher was also addressed. This research took an action research approach. A group of ten fourth-grade aboriginal students, the researcher (as the science teacher), and three peer teachers from a remote elementary school in Hualien County participated in this study. The research instrument for studying science learning motivation was SMTSL questionnaire. Data regarding to learning achievement were collected from three exams held by the case school, the homework and exercises as well as classroom observations by participated teachers and interviews with them, the researcher’s reflection diary, conversation among the researcher and the participated students, semi-structured interviews conducted by the researcher to the participated students. The main discoveries of this research were listed as follows: - Applying eco-education garden and multi-media to teaching made improvements in the science learning motivation and achievement of participated aboriginal fourth-grade elementary school students including low achievers. - Applying eco-education garden and multi-media to teaching helped the researcher to design better curriculum in the science unit “aquatic organisms” and got a better results in teaching and assessment. The researcher also had some professional development in terms of applying multimedia in teaching science units. Min-Jin Hsu 許銘津 博士 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 152 |
