Recently, sequential ambidexterity has been adopt by many firms, sequential ambidexterity means " by incorporating time into the concept of ambidexterity and balancing exploration and exploitation over time". But past researches revealed there were still some limitations in the sequential ambidexterity and provided several possible aspects to improve including strategic direction、knowledge capacity and human resource. Due to the current literature is still inadequate, this research planed to make sequential ambidexterity as a core and tried to discuss whether it will affect the new product performance or not. Meanwhile, in response to different aspects, this research propose strategic types、absorptive capacity and organizational improvisation as moderators to discuss how did they strengthen the positive effect of sequential ambidexterity on new product performance A total 145 electronic manufacturing firms constitute the sample. Hierarchical regression analysis reveals that sequential ambidexterity has a positive effect on new product performance. Result also show that, when a firm adopt analyzer strategy, the positive effect of sequential ambidexterity on new product performance will be strengthened. And absorptive capacity can strengthen positive effect of sequential ambidexterity on new product performance as well. However, the result shows organizational improvisation has no significant effect on the positive effect of sequential ambidexterity on new product performance. The implication of findings in this research on the theory and practice are further discussed.
