Summary: | 博士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 教育學系研究所 === 101 === This research aims to construct a model dealing with school-based curriculum development in small elementary schools. Approaches follow in the sequence: literature review, feature analysis on small schools, pilot interview and coordination with CIPP evaluation, and construction of miniature model. Then , the miniature model was modified by practitioners, expert professors, and educators at thirty elementary schools. Thirdly, the model was under test and its effectiveness and problems were evaluated.
The research result showed that the model was applicable for small elementary schools. And after assessing the outcomes of test, the research found the things needed to be remedied were: off campus resources needed to be imported and school personnel needed to be empowered; teaching space design, community human resource operation, and curriculum developmental strategies were relatively insufficient; assistance and reinforcement were needed as to aspects in teachers’ curriculum design and human resource operation; input of community human power was insufficient.
The problems of testing the model were: school culture hard to change; hardship in coordinating human power, resource, and time; curriculum panel’s operational efficiency was uneasy to administer; teachers’ capacity in curriculum design needed to be improved and their overload with respect to curriculum design was critical; teachers’ routine workload, particularly the provisional ones increased, conflict between parents and teachers mounted, personnel’s individual problems caused impacts on curriculum development; target-assessment check was uneasy to be fully realized; school curriculum had not yet reached the stage of "mature output”.
