Questionnaires were used to survey samples of senior students in elementary schools of Tainan, and the three main instruments used were “children conscious of family atmosphere scale”, “positive emotion scale” and “interpersonal relationship scale”. The data was then analyzed by methods such as descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The main findings of this study are as follows: 1. The degree of the overall performance in interpersonal relationships among senior students is positive and above average. 2. The performance in interpersonal relationships is significantly different among different genders of senior students;females perform better than males. 3. Senior students of different grades and birth order were insignificantly different in interpersonal relationship. 4. Family atmosphere has a positive correlation with interpersonal relationships of senior students. 5. Positive emotion has a positive correlation with interpersonal relationships of senior students. 6. Family atmosphere and positive emotion can effectively explain the interpersonal relationships of senior students. The best explanation index is “pleasure”, which contributes up to 56% of variance explained together with “parenting styles”, “environmental adaptation” and “flow theory”.
