碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 台灣文學研究所 === 101 === The thesis compares intertextuality of female, cities and modernity of screenplays and movies, which the screenplays are written by Chu Tien-Wen (朱天文),and the movies are made by Hou Hsiao-hsien (侯孝賢). The study discusses seven movies, including “Daughter of the Nile”(尼羅河女兒) (1987), ”Good Men, Good Women”(好男好女) (1995), “Flowers of Shanghai”(海上花) (1998), “Millennium Mambo” (千禧曼波) (2001), “Café Lumière” (珈琲時光) (2003), “Three Times”(最好的時光) (2005), and “Le Voyage du ballon rouge”(紅氣球) (2007), which are all cooperated by Chu Tien-wen and Hou Hsiao-hsien. In Chapter 1, the researcher illustrates motivation, research methods, and concepts of this paper, and also arranging former relevant research. Next, in Chapter 2, Chu Tien-Wen’s writing styles, thinking, literary background and the relationship between her and “Taiwanese New Cinema” are discussed. And the most important, her screenplays which are cooperated with Hou Hsiao-hsien are focused. In Chapter 3, “Gender power” is strongly mentioned. It discusses how the male and female “pronounce” in movies and screenplays. In Chapter 4, the researcher illustrates the relationship between modern cities (space) and female, trying to talk over female interactive experiences with cities, consuming, and families, and then discusses the intertextuality of female, texts and space. Finally, the seven movies’ data, resources, relevant books, and Chu and Hou’s personal chronology table are attached for distinct thesis reading.
