Buck-boost converter is widely used in many step-up/down applications to regulate output voltage. Because of the common ground and small ripple current of the input and output voltage, sepic converter is being substituted for buck-boost converter. However, the two inductors are needed, the circuit complexity and non-cost-effective are became more serious for sepic converter. In this thesis, a coupled inductor is adopted to integrate the two inductors of the sepic converter. Therefore, the cost of the inductor is reduced. The circuit operation principle of the sepic converter with coupled inductor is presented in detail.
