Literature in strategic alliance indicates that the strategic alliance is beneficial to the resource complement and thus leads to the corporation in innovation, management, technology, finance and marketing among the companies. The business model in copper bars industry is always absent in cooperation and it leads to the limited local market and export. The strategic alliance may become the major trend in the future. This study investigates the determinants of partner selection criteria and furthermore examines the effect of different firm characteristics on the determinants in partner selection criteria. The empirical results indicate that the different firm characteristics actually affect the determinants in partner selection criteria. Besides, the whether the strategic alliance within the same industry affect the determinants in partner selection criteria. There is still not literature of strategic alliance in copper bars industry and this study can supplement the implication to the firms in copper bars industry.
