Two instruments, Emotional Intelligence and Occupational Stress scales were used to collect data for the study. The t-test, ANOVA analysis, and Pearson product-moment correlation were utilized to analyze data. The results indicated that, first, junior high school teachers in Changhua County had medium to high level of emotional intelligence and they were experiencing medium occupational stress. Second, there was a significant difference between the occupational stress experienced by male and female junior high school teachers. There was a significant difference between the occupational stress experienced by junior high school teachers with different positions. Third, there was a significant difference between the emotional intelligence of male and female junior high school teachers. There was a significant difference between the emotional intelligence of junior high school teachers with different positions. Final, there was a significant negative correlation between occupational stress and emotional intelligence of junior high school teachers. Based on the findings, suggestions were presented as references to the authorities concerned, schools, junior high school teachers as well as a basis for future research efforts. 龔心怡 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 138 zh-TW
